The Quantum showcase is an event where the best and brightest companies within the United Kingdom get together to show off their latest developments. It has been running for 9 years, and has grown to over 1,800 registrants and 80 exhibitors. While attending the showcase, a surprise meeting between some KiwisInSTEM and a New Zealand delegation of scientists and policy makers in quantum research!

Scientists from NZ institutes including Te Whai Ao - Dodd-Walls Centre for Photonic and Quantum Technologies and Paihau-Robinson Research Institute were invited to the United Kingdom by James Araci who is the Lead Adviser for Science and Innovation at the British High Commission in Wellington.

If you'd like some more information about their visit I would suggest looking at this article from the Dodd-Walls Center.

With New Zealand having great representation at this event, international collaborations in the quantum space could bring in new investment to Aotearoa and enable our researchers and scientists access to facilities in the United Kingdom to further our quantum eco system.

It was great seeing some old friends, and of course in true Kiwi tradition we got together for a drink afterwards.

The showcase itself was a great show with new details of the quantum hubs being announced in the United Kingdom, bringing additional investment of over £100 Million to the Quantum fields of computing, communications, and sensing.
